Fallout: New Vegas Anyone?

Look at that picture. Awesome right? Well, not even comes close to the awesomeness hopefully coming in Fallout: New Vegas!

So, with all the recent work in the post apocalyptic world, whats the single greatest, most anticipated work of all? (or just of me :P )

If you said anything other than Fallout: New Vegas then you've obviously gone insane.

Taking place 4 years after the events of Fallout 3, and taking place in Las Vegas and the surrounding Mojave Desert, Fallout: New Vegas is a much anticipated addition to the Fallout series. It will feature the return of the V.A.T.S system, as well as feature the new faction mechanic, and include a hardcore mode to make the game extremely lifelike.

Fallout: New Vegas will be storming into a nerdy community near you on October 19th, so be sure to not miss it!

Post Apocalyptic Fiction

Apocalyptic fiction is a sub-genre of science fiction that is concerned with the end of civilization either through nuclear war, plague, or some other general disaster. Post-apocalyptic fiction is set in a world or civilization after such a disaster. The time frame may be immediately after the catastrophe, focusing on the travails or psychology of survivors, or considerably later, often including the theme that the existence of pre-catastrophe civilization has been forgotten (or mythologized). Post-apocalyptic stories often take place in an agrarian, non-technological future world, or a world where only scattered elements of technology remain. There is a considerable degree of blurring between this form of science fiction and that which deals with false utopias or dystopic societies.

Post apocalyptic fiction is probably my favorite category of ficton out there. It really just makes me marvel at how awesome everything is now, and how quick it could all come to an end (secretly i hope it does someitmes!)

The many different ways (nuclear war, pandemic, technological failure) really show that it is possible for us to lose it all in seconds!

Although there are many different genres and medias within post apocalyptic fiction, what is your favorite work? is it a certain videogame, movie, book, etc?

let me know i the comments!
OK Fuck it all, this is now a post apocalyptic fiction (hopefully one day though it wont be icton :O ) blog, feel free to post your favorite book or movie in the comments below.
im going to start off by saying my all time favorite post apocalyptic video game...fallout 3.

THE GAMEplay, the charactes, the story, i just found it really addicting. Spent hours going through all the missions , and many more hours playing thrugh all the side missions and just messing around with it.

I also liked how the premise of the game, nuclear aftermath, is a very possible thing in todays society. With powerful nuclear weaponry in the hands of many countries, its only time before the tension snaps.

be sure to check out this video

I guess the first thing i will post about, even though im cadadian is the us national debt. HOLY FUCKING SHIT. im actually in awe. you hear about how bad it is but when you sit down and actually look at the number its amazing. as i type this, the debt stands at

$13,442,750,788,416

seriously...holy mother of god. just.....fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. there hasn't been to much about this in the news (at least not where im from) lately, but with the mini-depression just shitting all over the econmy, war time costs, and Obama's new spend money to make money plan, i wouldnt be in the least surprised if that number grew dramatically before it begins to decline. Have fun being worse than broke America!
